With the Earth rotating on its axis, as it makes a loop around the sun half of the earth is exposed to the sun (spring and summer) and the other side is dark and cold (fall and winter). Summer happens in the hemisphere tilted towards the sun, and winter happens in the hemisphere tilted away from the sun.
Hope this helped :)

Hey there! :D
When the axis tilts, Earth faces differently towards the sun. When parts of Earth are more exposed, it is warmer and summer. When Earth is less exposed facing the sun, it is colder and winter. The rotation of the axis changes throughout the year. So, it changes at a pace we call seasons.
I hope this helps!
