Compare the functions below:

f(x) = −3 sin(x − π) + 2 g(x)

x y
0 8
1 3
2 0
3 −1
4 0
5 3
6 8

h(x) = (x + 7)2 − 1
Which function has the smallest minimum? (6 points)

A. f(x)

B. g(x)

C. h(x)

D. All three functions have the same minimum value.

Respuesta :

the function g(x)-- ----------->I could model it as a second degree equation
the roots are (view the table)
x1=2
x2=4
g(x)=(x-2)(x-4)
therefore  f(x)=−3 sin(x − π) + 2 (x-2)(x-4)

using a graphical tool------ >see attached drawing

 The answer is the option A) f(x)
