A carbon skeleton for cyclohexane is shown below. where on that skeleton would the substituents be located in 4-chloro-1-ethyl-2-methylcyclohexane

Respuesta :

Answer is in Word document in attachment.
Ethyl is on the first carbon atom and methyl is on second carbon of cyclohexane because position numbers of substituents must be determined so that they are as small as possible. And in the name of molecule, the substituent names (chloro, ethyl, methyl) must be arranged alphabetically and are prefixed to the parent name.
