Generally speaking, the goals of Chinese nationalism were to free China from "foreign imperialism, since China had faced many invasions from other countries, including Japan.
Chinese nationalism aimed to free China from corrupt treaties and foreign imperialism. These political and social movement was directly influenced by Communism, which is why it wanted to prevent a small and elite group from benefiting of corrupt treaties, in order to distribute the wealth among the population, and to break free from the control of foreign countries like England, which had been taking advantage of the nation for decades.
