The Battle of Wounded Knee B. WAS THE LAST CONFLICT BETWEEN NATIVE AMERICANS AND THE GOVERNMENT.
The Battle occurred on 29th December 1890 when a confrontation between the U.S. Army's 7th Cavalry and a band of Ghost Dancers under Big foot went awry. A fight broke out between an Indian and a U.S. soldier, a shot was fired which triggered a massacre. 25 men were killed from the cavalry side while 150 Indians died.
