What is the "Social Contract"? How did the Social Contract theory impact the United States government? Give me one example and explain how and why it is important to the United States government.

Respuesta :

Social Contract is a belief and a philosophy that government exist only in order to serve its people and protect their rights. They exist to exercise the will of the people and the people are the ones that give the government political power. This is evident in the Constitution which states these ideas clearly as it says that the government is of the people for the people and it starts with "We the people...". This shows just how important the Social Contract was to the Founding Fathers.
