The United States Senate repute the Treaty of Versailles after WWI, which in turn brought about a season of isolationism in America when it came to foreign policy. The US could not withdraw from the entire world and its affairs due to possessions that were located around the world, and also due to the US becoming the leading creditor nation. The US was also involved in many discussions globally that pertained to war debts as well as reparations, and did work to try to maintain international peace. The US was also involved in affairs in the western hemisphere, mostly in central America.
