The Hayes Compromise of 1877. stipulated all of the following conditions except (c) invalidation of the Reconstruction Amendments by southern state legislatures. After removal of USA military forces, southern democrats accepted republican Hayes for president, but with the restrainment of the republican party from interfering in the South’s local affairs. This enabled them to oppose their promise to protect black men’s civil and political rights which was one of the main points of Reconstruction Amendments.
