Ruth lives in a home with her husband, they are financially strapped, both Ruth and her husband have to work hard outside the home. Her husband often takes his dissatisfaction with life out on Ruth, but she's no doormat and often fires back. Ruth finds out that she is pregnant and immediately considers abortion. She knows that they don't have enough money to have a baby, and there is no room for a baby in their tiny, cramped, roach infested apartment.
