However, there was also an important Ancient civilization in Mexico. The Mexican indians built a large city that was later named Teotihuacan. In the fourth century, Teotihuacan was the sixth largest city in the world. Its population reached 250,000 people, and the city’s influence reached throughout Central and South America. Many other cultures borrowed the city’s architectural style to build their own cities. Other cultures also learned about science, agriculture, and religion from the people of Teotihuacan.
