Light waves come in different wavelengths and frequencies. The color of the light we see is dependent on wavelength. When we see a rainbow, we are actually seeing

when we see a rainbow we actually see different wavelengths of light which is got dispersed and scattered into its components wavelengths.. if we gather all the wavelength and mix it and make a bundle it will appear as a white color .. it is a white color which makes all the other (7) color of the rainbow due to dispersion and total internal reflection
