Answer and explanation;

If water flows into a plant, it means that the plant is in a hypotonic environment.

The inside of the plant cell s hypertonic (more solute molecules than water molecules) to the outside environment, therefore the plant cell absorbs water osmotically, it then increases in size and becomes turgid.

The plant cell only becomes turgid and unlike the animal cells it does not burst due to the presence of cellulose cell wall which is absent in animal cells.
