The circulatory system is the set of organs that are responsible for getting all the cells in the body its nutrients they need to carry out their life functions.
The Heart - Pumps the blood through blood vessels so that the body can function.
Arteries - Carry blood containing oxygen away from the heart and spreads it throughout the body.
Veins - Carry blood without oxygen back TOWARDS the heart.
Capillaries - The smallest blood vessels that tend to individual cells and connect the gaps between the arteries and veins.
Superior Vena Cava - Carries oxygen-poor blood INTO the heart.
Aorta - Carries blood with oxygen to the organs and tissues of the body.
