The Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith is the book that is often thought of as the beginning of economics. The full title of the book is, An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations. Smith was an economist from Scotland and published the book in 1776. It was his belief that if we operate under a truly free economy, the economy becomes self-regulating.
