It is given that the farmer collected 12 dozen eggs from her chickens . In 1 dozen, there are 12 eggs, so in 12 dozens, number of eggs

[tex] = 12*12 =144 eggs [/tex]

And out of 144 eggs, she sold 5/6 of the eggs at the farmer market, that is

[tex] \frac{5}{6}*144 = 120 eggs [/tex]

And she gave away the rest to friends and neighbours . It means, she gave

[tex] 144-120 = 24 eggs [/tex]

to friends and neighbours, which is equal to 2 dozens .

She sold each dozen for $4.50 . And she sold 120 eggs that is 10 dozens .

Therefore , she earned

[tex] 4.50*10 = $ 45 [/tex]
