When boundaries are set by a person, they need to be respected and not 'crossed'. When referring to someones boundaries, they are standards they set for something they feel strongly about and when you do not do what they wish for, you are crossing their boundaries. If someone asks for space, and you want leave them alone.. you are not respecting their privacy to be left alone.
