The Semantic Web is an extension of the existing World Wide Web (www). It provides a standardized way of expressing the relationships between web pages, to allow machines to understand the meaning of hyperlinked information.
note it is not about links between pages, rather RELATIONSHIPS between pages and PROPERTIES of things.
