Answer:

The author uses an angry and lonely tone in telling Samuel's story.

Explanation:

Samuel's Story is about a young Cherokee Indian boy named Samuel Cloud and his journey on the Trial of Tears retold by his great great-grandson Michael Rutledge. This story begin from when the soldiers came to their habitation and ends with the realization of his hatred for these white men.

The story as retold by Michael details the time of Spring when the soldiers arrived and made them captives They then were asked to walk away from their homes, towards the North. Everyone of their people were displaced, their homes occupied by the white men. On the way, his father died and then later on, during the winters, his mother died too. No provisions were provided to them, not even during winter. And when they pass through towns, they were stared at by the white men, in each and every town. The end of the story saw Samuel understanding what it means to hate, for it was these white men who had taken his family away from him. His hatred of them stems from nothing else except their insensitivity, proclaiming in the end "none of them care about me or my people, All they ever saw was the color of my skin. All I see is the color of theirs and I hate them".
