Step1) Rewrite the Problem as Additive Inverse
6x + -5 +2x= 43
Step2) Add the like terms
6x + 2x =8x
8x + -5=43
Step3) Solve
8x + -5 = 43 We add 5 to each side because we have to make -5 zero,
+5 +5 and to make it equal you add 5 to both sides
8x = 48
You make divide 8/x by 8 and 48 by 8, your anwser will be x=6
Additive Inverse is simply doing keep change change, this rule ONLY allpies for subtraction, for example 3-2
keep the 3, change the - to + change the 2 to negative2
So now the equation is 3+-2 which is 1. This makes this problem much more complex however with problems such as this one it can really help and you will find your anwser much quicker.
