for a fund raising activity, the student council rented a popcorn machine for $.50 pee day. they plan to sell the popcorn for $1.50 per bag. it cost $.50 to produce one bag of popcorn. What is the least number of bags of popcorn they must sell in order to make a profit?

f(x)=-.5x+1x      f(1)=-.5(1)+1= f(1)= 1-.5= .50, so after selling one bag of popcorn they make a $0.50 profit.
