The Monroe Doctrine is the policy had stated that any efforts by European countries to colonize land in North or South America would be viewed as aggressive acts and could require U.S. intervention.
Since the U.S declared the Monroe doctrine as an aggressive act, it could just bring harm, no good. I believe that it should not be followed today.
