The Italians are the successors of the Romans, and Romans adopted many aspects of their culture from Greeks, so Greeks are definitely better than Romans and Italians. Scythians were probably illiterate: so they're not a good choice either.
The Greeks are the right answer and they also are famous for their philosophy!
