Whorf is broadly known for his thoughts regarding semantic relativity, the speculation that dialect impacts thought. An imperative topic in a significant number of his productions, he has been credited as one of the fathers of this approach, regularly alluded to as the "Sapir– Whorf speculation", named after him and his tutor Edward Sapir.
