Maddie and Juan's were given to task of trying to cook a hot dog using the Sun! They built this oven using a box and aluminum foil. After setting up the device, they put two hot dogs in the box. The energy transformation that took place in the students’ oven is solar energy to heat energy. Solar energy is the heat from the sun which is called radiant energy that heats up the oven. The absorbing heat energy accumulates inside the oven more quickly than it loses it, so its internal temperature rises with the help of aluminum foil that can contain heat, which makes the hotdog hot and ready to eat.
