Respuesta :
The plum pudding model of the atom was not correct. The prediction that alpha particles would pass through a sample of matter and would be deflected only minimally was disproved by rutherford and co-workers who found that some alpha particles (1 in 8000) bounced almost straight back
Explanation:
After the discovery of electron, J.J Thomson proposed 'Plum pudding model' in 1904. As per plum pudding model.
As per plum pudding model,
Positively charged is continuously spread through out the atom and the negatively charged electrons are embedded just like electrons embedded in plum.
Major Drawbacks of Plum pudding model:
As per Thomson's model, protons are uniformly distributed, but actually protons concentrated in a small region called nucleus.
According to Rutherford's model, electrons revolve around the nucleus in stationary orbitals. But in Thomson's model, electrons were embedded.
