Ozone is a blue colored gas. It is highly explosive and toxic even at low concentrations. It naturally occur in small concentration in one of the atmospheric layers called as stratosphere. It has a protective function in the stratosphere. It shields the earth by harmful radiations of ultraviolet and infrared light coming from the sun by readily absorbing them which are capable of causing huge damage to the living organisms.
