The mistake was made at step 3. On the left side of the equation 8 was added and on the right side of the equation 8 was subtracted. 8 should have been added to both sides of the equation.
To correct:1. 2(x-4)=562. 2x-8=563. 2x-8+8=56+84. 2x=645. 2x/2=64/26. x= 32
