3. Reread this quotation from near the end of “Walden Pond”:
Many a forenoon have I stolen away, preferring to spend thus the most valued part of the day; for I was rich, if not in money, in sunny hours and summer days, and spent them lavishly; nor do I regret that I did not waste more of them in the workshop or the teacher’s desk.
Explain this quotation. Be sure to address the “wealth” Thoreau claims, his use of that wealth, and his views of the workshop or school.

2. When I Heard the Astromner by Whitman is a poem filled with romantic ideas because it shows people that they should enjoy natures beauty and power instead of try to destroy nature. For example the phrase, ""Look'd up to in perfect silence at the stars" shows how Whitman would rather look at the beauty of nature instead of hear the astromner talk about it.
3. This quotation is an example of romantic ideas about nature and how the speaker is wealthy because of all of the beauty around him.  Thoreau believed that he was rich and wealthy because he could enjoy the beauty of nature. He used this wealthy be watching and looking at nature.  He did not think school or the workshop was something he needed because he had all he needed from the nature around him.

Answer:

A similarity is that both poets are talking about snow.  A difference is that both poets describe it differently.

Explanation:

Both poets are talking about the snow. However, Dickinson did not identify the snow. She only used the pronoun "it" in describing the snow. Emerson provided clarity when he said, "arrives the snow."  The mood of this sifts from Leaden Sieves is very calm and soothing, whereas the mood of The Snow-Storm is very wild and tumultuous.
