Then we subtract half the area of the circle form it
We are subtracting only half because that is the amount of the arena in the car park

w = width
r = radius
radius = diameter/2 = 50/2 = 25

area of rectangle = lw
area of circle = [tex] \pi r^{2} [/tex]

lw - 1/2( [tex] \pi r^{2} [/tex] )
(75)(100) - 1/2(3.14)([tex]25^{2}[/tex])
= 5537.5
