1) Explain why increasing the amounts of the two enzymes changed the life spans of the mice.

2) Express your opinion about whether people should be engineered to have high levels of the two enzymes. Should people have the option to do this if they would like? Should parents be allowed to have it done to their children? Is it okay to do it to stop cancer but not okay to do it to stop aging?

3) Express your opinion about potential problems that could result from this technology. Who should bear the responsibility for solving these problems? Explain your point of view. Give examples to support your viewpoint.

Respuesta :

- These are the two enzymes which have been genetically engineered in mica and which enhances the life span of mice and lived much longer.

- Using this technique would be a record breaking invention in science if we can increase the life span and guarantee a fear free life. Considering the benefits, parents should be allowed to have it done it for their children. Later on, the technique can be used to cure and treat cancer but it will take time.

- Genetic engineering is a molecular technique that makes changes in your genetic make-up. Although it has been giving positive results on animals but its application on humans can be highly questionable because it gives rise to many ethical as well as moral concerns.
