The disagreements that arose between Britain and the colonies in the 1700s were mostly due to the heavy taxation that the British crown imposed to the American colonies.
Examples of this heavy taxation were the Sugar Act, the Stamp Act, the Navigation Act, the Wool Act, the Proclamation of 1763 or the Tea Act. What really angered the American colonists was that they had to pay so many taxes but they did not have a voice that was heard and had no representation in the English Parliament. Those acts and taxes were one of the most important causes of the Revolutionary War.
