The system of checks and balances can be used to determine which branch has inherent powers. This system gives each branch of the government, which include the judicial, executive, and legislative branches, some measure of influence over the other branches and the opportunity to block procedures of the other branches.
One of the Constitutional Principles is Separation of Powers which lets us distinguish what powers each of the branches have. It lets the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches know which commands they have. Further than Separation of Powers, the branches are capable to check and balance each other to validate that not one branch becomes too influential or commanding. It is significant to know that each branch has unalike powers and accountabilities.
