Abolitionism is a term that refers to the movement to end the practice of slavery. Abolitionism can be of two types - moderate or radical.
a. Moderate abolitionism is a little laid back, in the sense that it is based on the belief that change takes time and thus progress should be made one step at a time. In contrast to this, radical abolitionism advocates drastic change, that has to be achieved quickly.
b. Moderate abolitionism involves the use of political methods, rather than violence, whereas, radical abolitionists are willing to use force and violence if needed.
