Brand alliances is a branding strategy which is divided into three types:
1. Cobrands
2. Brand licenses
3. Crossmarketing
Among the three types, it is cobrands that matches the type of brand alliance that Rovio used. Cobrands is the usage or carrying of two or more brands on one certain product. Rovio launched a new version of its popular angry bird's game which he called “angry birds: star wars.”
