As a salesperson, he should know the basic rules in marketing in order to successfully sell a product. The first one is to properly select the target audience. The best candidates would be people with a larger influence, thus opening bigger opportunities for the product. The second one is proper time management. They must be strategic and swift. Third, they should be able to monitor the field – customers, competitors and economic/technological changes. Fourth, they should be able to do field work and assess new information about the marketplace. Fifth is securing resources. Sixth, they should have proper timing. Salesmen should know when to advance in an opportunity or not. Lastly, they should prioritize where to focus their money, effort and time on.
