The simple answer is Kurds. The Kurds is an ethnic group in the middle east inhabiting parts of Iraq, Iran, Syria and Turkey. This group has been trying to create a nation of their own called Kurdistan comprising parts of Iran, Iraq, Syria and Turkey. They have not achieved their goal yet and their struggle for independence was suppressed by nations where this ethic group presently live.
