A marine scientist is studying photosynthetic organisms, which use sunlight to produce their own food. She observes that they tend to populate shallower ocean depths. She concludes that photosynthetic organisms can only live in areas of low pressure. Why is this an invalid scientific conclusion?

This is an invalid conclusion because pressure has nothing to do with the observations/facts she already knows. Rather, photosynthetic organisms tend to live in shallow water because they are more easily able to absorb sunlight to preform photosynthesis.
