The answer to #1 should be c.
Oxy-acids ending in -ous have one less oxygen than ones ending in -ic. For example, Sulfuric acid is H2SO4, and Sulfurous acid is H2SO3.
Problem #2: b. the subscripts indicate the number of each atom or ion. For example, in H2SO4, there are two H atoms and 4 O atoms for every one S atom.
