The body requires fuel and energy to perform the typical brain functions, physical activities, and operating of the organs. Carbohydrates provide the fuel and energy.

Lipids play a number of roles but one main role is the storage of energy. A lot like Carbohydrates they are incredibly important to our bodies. In that, they store and give us energy throughout the day.

I hope this helps!

The functions of carbohydrates and lipids are similar as - both are biomolecules and provide energy.

Biomolecules are the biological molecules that are produced by the cell of a living organism. The four major biomolecules are Protein, nucleic acid, carbohydrate, and lipids. All these biomolecules are polymers of their monomers.

Carbohydrates:

  • an essential and common class of biochemical compounds.
  • They provide or store energy, among other uses.
  • Carbohydrates are built of small monomers called monosaccharides
  • play role as a structural component of the cell.

Lipids:

  • provide a high amount of energy
  • made of fatty acid and TGA monomers
  • play role as a structural component
  • chemical messenger

Thus, The functions of carbohydrates and lipids are similar as - both are biomolecules and provide energy.
