This is the sense of generativity. This is stage 7 of Erikson's 8-stage Psychosocial model. In this stage, we get settled in our families, look to have a rewarding and satisfying career, and try to fit in with the larger society. Failing to do this leads to a sense of unfulfillment and being "stuck" in one's position.
