The sodium-potassium pump plays an important role in the water balance of cells.in terms of osmosis, explain the consequences of the sodium-potassium pumps not working;

Respuesta :

Osmosis is the process by which water molecules move through a semi permeable membrane from the region of lower solute concentration to the region of higher solute concentration. The sodium potassium pump plays a key role in the process of osmosis in the cells. If the sodium potassium pump is not working, excess potassium or sodium will accumulate either outside or inside of the cells and this will cause osmotic imbalance in the body, with the cells either shrinking or bursting.
