1.) multiply the equation 3.25x-y=-0.75 by -2 to get rid of the y and isolate "x." So:
-2(3.25z-y=-0.75)
2.) if you do this, you will get: -6.5x+2y=1.5 Next, you will use process of elimination and get rid of the y.
-4.5x-2y=12.5
-6.5x+2y=1.5

-> -11x=-11
3.) Now you will divide each side by -11 to isolate the x.
-11x = -11

-11 -11
->> x=1
