As well as being the parts of Earth (or a different planet) where living organisms are, ‘biosphere' can also refer to man-made structures that contain various ecosystems. Ecosystems are systems where living organisms interact with the non-living things in their environment to survive. Both ecosystems and biospheres refer to living things.
Ecology is differentiated into the organization levels initiating with the biosphere, ecosystems, populations, communities, organism, matter, cell, and an atom. The region enveloping the earth and supporting life is called the biosphere. The biosphere comprises various ecosystems. The ecosystem refers to a biological community of associating species and their physical surrounding.
The similarity between an ecosystem and a biosphere is that they both exhibit organisms that rely on each other and associate.
