which is one way scientists indicate how precise and accurate their experimental measurements are? A. they keep accurate, honest records. B. they make sure their experiments can be repeated. C. they use significant figures in their measurements. D.they record small samples of data.

Respuesta :

These are two different questions, as precision and accuracy are different things.

Precision is described by the number of significant figures in a measured value.  This would suggest that C is the answer.

Accuracy is a measure of how close a measured value is to the actual thing it's measuring.  A and B would be the answer to this question.

D isn't the answer to anything, as multiple samples are needed.

Answer : Option B) They make sure their experiments can be repeated.

Explanation : The one way which indicates that how precise and accurate the scientist's experimental measurements are- is by making sure that their experiments are repeatable.

As accuracy is a term which is defined as the a combination of both types of observational error which is random and systematic, so if high accuracy is required then both high precision and high trueness has to be achieved. In short, it the closeness to the 'true value' of the observations.

Whereas Precision refers to the closeness of two or more measurements to each other, but it is independent of accuracy.

So, to produce precise and accurate results in experimental measurements, the experiments should have repeatable data of results and observations.
