These are the main events in chronological order. -Gilgamesh is the king of Uruk. His behavior makes the people of Uruk angry so they pray to the gods for help; Enkidu is the answer to their prayers.-Enkidu and Gilgamesh fight. Gilgamesh wins. - Gilgamesh convinces Enkidu to kill the monster Humbaba. -. Enkidu convinces him to kill Humbaba even though he asks for mercy. - They make a raft and sail it back to Uruk.- Ishtar is enraged, and sends the Bull of Heaven as punishment. Gilgamesh and Enkidu slay it.-Enkidu dies; Gilgamesh is sad. He stays next to Enkidu's body for a week. -Gilgamesh decides to find Utnapishtim to find the secret of immortality. Gilgamesh finds Urshanabi boat and destroys the "stone things." -Utnapishtim told him about a plant that would give him youth so goes to the bottom of hole to find it.-A snake steals the plant while Gilgamesh is having a bath. Gilgamesh starts crying. He thinks that his entire quest was a waste.-He and Urshanabi return to Uruk. Gilgamesh triumphantly lists the notable features of the city.
