It lead to American Independence because before the war the colonies had salutary neglect so England was not controlling what they do. But after the war in 1763 King George III issued the Proclamation of 1763 which said settlers could not settle west of the Appalachian mountains. He did this because England was in debt after spending so much money on the war so he could not send troops to fight the remaining Natives which were a danger to the colonists. (They had killed over 2,000 of the settlers in that area). After this colonists became angry because they could not settle the land they fought and died for (since the war was fought in America not in England). You must also remember that the colonists are British but King George III, Parliament and the rest of the English citizens do not consider them citizens but subject since they do not live  in England or were born there. (They were born in the colonies) So when King George III sent out the act like the Sugar, Stamp, Declaratory Tea Quartering, and Townshend acts, they did not apply to anyone in England but only to the colonies, to help England not be in debt. (The king and Parliament believe that England became in debt to help the colonies have land to settle, so therefore they must pay to get England to the way it used to be) The colonists are angry at these acts because they tax the things that they want like sugar, paper, legal documents, tea, paint, lead, glass, playing cards. All of these things were taxed during different times though. The only Act that was a tax in disguise was the Quartering Act where colonies had to house soldiers in barracks provided by the colonies. So the effect of all of these acts is that the colonists are furious so they smuggle goods which causes the Writs of Assistance where British can search any home at any time for smuggled goods. (similar to a search warrant). Another effect is that the colonies split and some become loyalists who are loyal to the king and the others become patriots who are not and just want to have peace. After some time the patriots become to see themselves as a whole and as Americans and not just as separate colonies. Then the Boston Massacre happens and things get heated. After that the Boston Tea Party occurs where colonists dress up as Native Americans and dump 342 chests of tea into the Boston Harbor (worth over 1 million dollars today!). After this, Parliament and King George III issue the Intolerable/Coercive Acts which enforces a stronger Quartering Act where soldiers must stay in the colonists' homes and the colonists must provide the room, food, board, beer and other necessities, they close the Boston Harbor until all of that lost tea is paid for, a new governor (General Gage) governs Massachusetts and enforces martial law, also the kings sends  10,000 soldiers, and any Officials charged with crime will have their trial in England and not in the colonies. This draws the line between England and her colonies and pretty soon small battles like Lexington and Concord (where the British were defeated) happen as well as events like the 1st Continental Congress. After this things start to fall in place and the Revolutionary War takes place. I hope this answers your question!

Hope this helps!
