john is buying a cake for his sisters birthday. he wants to get the most cake he can. one cake (A) is 9.5 inches wide, 13 inches long, and 2 inches high, another (B) is 12 inches wide, 14 inches long, and 1.5 inches high. which will john buy? how much longer is it

To decide which cake would be the best value for money, we will calculate the volume of each cake

Cake A: 9.5 × 13 × 2 = 247 inches³
Cake B: 12 × 14 × 1.5 = 252 inches³

The best value cake will be cake B

Cake B is 14 - 13 = 1 inch longer and 12 - 9.5 = 2.5 inches wider but it's also 0.5 inches shorter than cake A.
