For the lord of the flies an unnamed time of war, a plane had crashed an island on the Pacific full of British school boys. The pilot died during the beginning of the book due to the crash they had, but many of the school boys were alive. The school boys had to learn to live on the island and survive with one another. That did not happen though the school boys then didn't get along and fought over food and clothes and fire. Simon had died on accident first during the beginning of the book due to hunger.
So they broke into two teams, with the main characters being the leader of the packs. Ralph was one of the main characters, he had found a conch and he blew into it for alls attention when needed. The other main character was Jack rude, bigger and meaner. The two packs were fighting and trying to kill one another. Piggy was a small, little boy he was always scared but he stuck to Ralph's side. Piggy died later on during the book when Jacks group of people threw a boulder onto piggy killing him. Jack then threw his spear at Ralph trying to kill him, then they all joined in from both sides.
At the end of the book an officer stops all the non sense and saves them. He starts of telling the boys to calm down and asking them all what are you guys doing then they all get together to leave.

Lord of the Flies is a book written by Sir William Goulding about a bunch of young British school boys stranded on an island. During a war these boys are evacuated but their plane crashes. With no adults to take action the boys look to the two oldest Ralph and Jack but in a vote Ralph wins. As the boys are getting the lay of the land and realize they're all alone they make a fire at the mountain top to make smoke for ships passing by to see. Piggie, a fat and typically more responsible boy, warns them not to take it out of control but no one listens to him and they start a quarter mile forest fire. Afterwards is a time jump and Jack and his choir friends have become hunters though they're struggling to actually catch a pig. Meanwhile Ralph is struggling with leadership as he tells tge boys to make shelters but the only ones listening are Piggie and an odd boy named Simon. Ralph and Jack constantly argue over whether meat or shelter is more important while Simon wonders off into the forest. Moving perspectives, one of the littleuns (a smaller child around the age of 6) is playing by himself while a bigger boy, Roger, stalks him. Roger starts throwing rocks to the littleun's left and right, exhibiting some slightly sociopathic behaviour. The littleuns start becoming frightened because one of them claims to have seen a monster (or beastie). Jack says he will hunt the beastie while Ralph says the beastie isn't real. After constant arguing Jack decides that he'll make his own tribe of hunters leaving Ralph with only Piggie and Simon. Jack's hunters finally catch a pig and decide to cut it's head off and put it on a stick as a sacrifice to the beastie. Then his tribe invites Ralph's tribe to eat with them. While Ralph and Piggie eat with them Simon wonders off and finds that the "beastie" is actually just the dead body of a parachuter who's stuck in the trees. The pig head then tells Simon that the real beast is actually inside of all the boys and man kind (referencing Goulding's belief in man kind having evil within them). Simon rushes to tell everyone there is no beast but in the dark the boys mistake Simon for the beast and kill him. Ralph and Piggie try to pretend they weren't involved because of their guilt when Jack's tribe steals Piggie's Glasses, so they can make fire. Ralph and Piggie go to retrieve the glasses and Ralph and Jack end up fighting. Piggie gives a speach trying to make them stop but Roger pushes over a boulder which kills Piggie. Now with Ralph all alone the boys go on a hunt to kill him. While runs away he finds a British Naval officer who saw fire on the island. At the sight of rescue all the boys start to cry and the book ends. Sorry long summary it's just that this book has a lot of important events and symolism. It's a book with very flowery language and it's kinda hard to understand but I do reccommend reading it because Goulding had a very interesting point of view.
