A mixed fraction is when there is more than 1 whole i.e. 1 3/4

To convert this into a mixed fraction, we can find out how many times 50 fits in 12: 50/12 = 4.16666
So we know there are 4 wholes, which as twelfths are 48/12;
We can then observe the difference between 50 and 48 is 2 twelfths
So 50/12 as a mixed number/fraction is 4 wholes and 2 twelfths
which can also be written as 4 2/12 and then simplified to 4 1/6
