The name of Colonial New Hampshire was taken from the region of Hampshire in the 'mother land'. Colonial New Hampshire was one of the first 13 English provinces situated on the Atlantic shore of North America.
Most of the workforce in Colonial New Hampshire comprised of manual laborers, hirelings, understudies, mariners, contracted hands and semi-gifted tradesmen. These were pioneers of the lower class couldn't vote nor hold open office. hardly any possessed property and most were unskilled. The lower classes were reinforced by Indentured Servants and a few slaves.
